The McCabe Communications
Center
functions as the only privately operated and
licensed E-911 dispatch center in the state of New Jersey.
All dispatchers are New Jersey Certified Emergency Medical
Dispatchers (EMDs) trained in call-taking and pre-arrival
instruction.
The McCabe Institute of
Emergency Preparedness (MIEP) is McCabe’s own
training agency. The MIEP is one of only 52 American Heart
Association certified training agencies in NJ. In addition,
the MIEP is recognized by the National Safety Council in
First Aid training.
McCabe Ambulance Service is comprised of a very special
team, one whose reputation speaks volumes. In order to be
part of this team, a true sense of compassion must be
delivered by each and every employee at all times. The
hallmark of McCabe is and always has been PATIENT CARE. To
be part of the best, one must be at their best…always.
Emergency
Medical Services
McCabe Ambulance has been the exclusive EMS provider for the
city of Bayonne since the early 1980s. Currently, McCabe has
a fleet of eleven Basic Life Support ambulances licensed by
the state of New Jersey for EMS response. Two of these
ambulances are
certified to perform both BLS and Specialty Care Transport
for those patients who are critically ill or injured.
On average, McCabe answers 15,000 calls per year.
Additionally, McCabe is not just limited to the city of
Bayonne. McCabe provides mutual aid for neighboring
communities in Hudson County and emergency response to the
New Jersey Turnpike and Bayonne Bridge. McCabe Ambulance is
also a member of the NJ EMS Task Force.
McCabe Ambulance has responded to many large scale incidents
over the years, including the 1993 World Trade Center
bombing, the Secaucus train derailment in 1995, the 9/11
World Trade Center attacks, and the U.S. Airways Flight 1549
crash in 2009.
Non Emergency
McCabe Ambulance also provides non-emergency transport to
patients who are bedridden and in need of transport from one
destination to another. McCabe Ambulance services the
majority of nursing home facilities in Hudson County and
also provides transport from a patient’s residence to a
specific location.
McCabe Ambulance stands firmly behind its guaranteed
professionalism and provides all transports in the cleanest
vehicles in the area.
