fully functional mobile communications unit. This vehicle carries
a portable radio cache (UHF/VHF), as well as two consoles with over 100
programmed frequencies capable of facilitating interoperable

McCabe's Waterfront Strike Team MCI trailer is another piece of
aparatus staffed by the S.O.G. This trailer is one of ten within
Hudson County. This trailer is fully equipped to handle large
scale events within and outside Hudson County. These specialized
trailers were constructed with grant monies appropriated through the
U.A.S.I. region.
McCabe EMS S.O.G. also serves as the emergency medical component for
the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Rapid Deployment Force.
The Rapid Deployment Force is comprised of 100 police officers from
Hudson County; this specialized group of individuals train together in
tactical-based scenarios, providing perimeter and buffer zone
protection at large scale events. As the EMS component to the RDF,
McCabe S.O.G. mobilizes with the unit whenever deployed. The RDF trains
on a regular basis, and can be mobilized by contacting the Hudson
County Prosecutor's office.
The rapid deployment force recently completed tactical medic training
with the U.S. Coast Guard and STS consultants from Massachussets.
Training scenarios included officer down and chemical-based scenarios.
