| McCabe to Commemorate 50 Years of CPR |
June 1-7, 2010 is National CPR and AED Awareness Week as established by the U.S. Congress and the American Heart Association. 2010 will mark the 50th Anniversary of CPR, which coupled with the advent of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), has allowed everyday people to save many lives.
The McCabe Institute of Emergency Preparedness will commemorate CPR and AED Awareness Week by offering several Family and Friends CPR programs for community members at no cost:
- Wednesday June 2, 2010 at 8:30 a.m.
- Wednesday June 2, 2010 at 6:30 p.m.
- Friday June 4, 2010 at 8:30 a.m.
- Friday June 4, 2010 at 1:30 p.m.
Each program lasts approximately 2 hours and will be held in our modern training center at 880 Broadway.
The class is meant to familiarize members of the public with the basics of this lifesaving technique.
The course will include an orientation to AEDs, which are now available through McCabe for businesses, organizations, medical/dental offices, and even homes and vacation homes!

completion, they
need to come to
our training
facility for
only 20 minutes
so they can be
tested on their
practical
