McCabe Ambulance has been the exclusive 911 provider for the City of Bayonne since the early 1980s.

Emergency Medical Services

Currently, McCabe has a fleet of eighteen Basic Life Support ambulances licensed by the State of New Jersey for EMS response.

 

Three of these ambulances are certified to perform both BLS and Specialty Care Transport for those patients who are critically ill or injured.

 

On average, McCabe answers more than 25,000 calls per year. Not just limited to the City of Bayonne, McCabe also provides mutual aid for neighboring communities in Hudson County and emergency response to the New Jersey Turnpike and Bayonne Bridge.

 

Over the years, McCabe Ambulance has responded to many large-scale events. H. Mickey McCabe, serving as the EMS County OEM Coordinator, is responsible for the planning and mobilization of all Hudson County EMS resources during a large-scale incident.

 

McCabe Ambulance has responded to many large scale incidents over the years, including the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, the Secaucus train derailment in 1995, the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks, and the U.S. Airways Flight 1549 crash in 2009.

Ambulance Services

Currently, McCabe has a fleet of eighteen Basic Life Support ambulances licensed by the State of New Jersey for EMS response. Three of these ambulances are certified to perform both BLS and Specialty Care Transport for those patients who are critically ill or injured.

Specialty Care Transport

In addition to providing 9-1-1 emergency response to Bayonne and Hudson County, McCabe Ambulance also operates a Specialty Care Transport (SCT) Division.


McCabe is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services to serve as a Specialty Care Transport provider throughout New Jersey. Our SCT units are state-of-the-art, well-equipped vehicles staffed with two EMTs and a licensed registered nurse.

Communication Center

The McCabe Communications Center functions as the only privately operated and licensed E-911 dispatch center in the state of New Jersey.

 

All dispatchers are New Jersey Certified Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMDs) trained in call-taking and pre-arrival instruction.

Special Operations Group

McCabe EMS has its own Special Operations Group (S.O.G.) The S.O.G. is comprised of McCabe employees, who range from EMT Basic to a Board certified Physician. This specialized group is trained to handle response to any large scale event, and have all been trained in the Incident Command Systems, Hazardous Materials, Weapons of Mass Destruction, T.E.M.S., as well as Response to a Large Scale Incidents.
